Katelynn | Romantic Wedding Day Re-shoot

When I met Katelynn, she was already married! So here's how this shoot happened...On her wedding day (which was at the Springs Event Venue in Aubrey, Texas) she was supposed to have pictures taken outside, but it rained. Her original wedding photographer (and my friend) Jamie Huffman decided to do a little re-shoot to recreate her wedding day so she and her husband would have the outdoor wedding photos they wanted! Oak + Ivy Wedding Venue in Aubrey, Texas was the site for "wedding day #2", and it was a beautiful. The weather was great, the couple was so sweet, and it just couldn't have gone better. We recreated the event as best as we could - Katelynn wore the same gown, and her husband dressed in the suit he wore when they said "I do" a few months earlier.

On "wedding day"...

we met in the Bridal Suite at Oak + Ivy. After some introductions and a hug hello we got to work! I did a quick skin check to determine her skin type (because we didn't have a trial) and we spoke about what look she wanted. She was so gracious to let me decide the look! Booyah! Her dress was formal, covered in lace with a very romantic vibe, and her hair was down with big, soft, flowing curls. I chose to do a soft, medium tone look that defined the outer corner of her eyes to give her the drama to go with all that romance - without looking overdone. We paired it with a natural pink lip that popped when she stepped in front of the natural greens and browns in the outdoors.

My favorite thing about Katelynn's re-shoot was...

we didn't have all the stress that comes with a typical bridal wedding day session. We talked about her life, my life, skincare, being a newlywed, and she told me all about her wedding day. We just hung out! So often I don't get a chance to see the bride after the ceremony - and I rarely meet the husband to be - so it was great hearing her story, meeting her husband, and hearing about their life as a married couple. It was obvious they are SO in love and SO glad they're married. And I'm so glad I was a part of making their wedding day complete!
